IMAGEN FOUNDATION ANNOUNCES KATRINA ELIAS’ “ABUELO’S LEGACY” AS FINALIST IN ‘BEST LIVE THEATRICAL PERFORMANCE’ CATEGORY

LOS ANGELES, CA/EZPress – The 19th Annual Imagen Foundation announced Wednesday during a press conference at the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, the nomination of Katrina Elias' comedy stage play “ABUELO’S LEGACY”, in the 'Best Live Theatrical Performance Category'. 

The Award winning and critically acclaimed “ABUELO’S LEGACY”, written and produced by Katrina Elias, (starring Liz Torres GILMORE GIRLS, AMERICAN FAMILY, JOE DIRT), was the WINNER of the 5th Annual Hispanic Playwright Festival of Fort Worth, TX 2003, FINALIST of the Writer’s Digest 72nd Annual Writing Contest 2003, WINNER of the Ricardo Montalban Play Competition 2003, and FINALIST of the ABC Entertainment Talent Development Program. “ABUELO’S LEGACY” portrays an elderly Cuban man who wreaks havoc at his grandson's engagement party, extolling the virtues of his "magical hat" capable of leading its wearer to the truth. 

Ms. Elias' new dramatic play “RED COLOMBIAN SKY” premieres in July as Winner of the 6th Annual Hispanic's Playwright Festival, and the 35mm short film adaptation will be released September 04. Katrina Elias will be available for interviews upon availability.
